Lake in the Hills Auto Repair

We were using another local shop for all of our car repairs and we came to SJM for a second opinion. We've now used them for a few repairs and they've been great. Fair prices and great communication.

This place has remarkable people! I came in with a few problems with my Civic and they kept me up to date with everything (they called me every time to let me know what had to be done and if I was okay with it or not which was honestly so awesome of them to do). Many mechanics these days just want your money and don’t care about keeping their clients up to date with what they are doing with someone else’s car, but these people continue to prove time and time again that their quality of service is their #1 priority among all their clients. And for that, I’m proud to call myself an SJM customer!

I want to warn you before you bring your vehicle there take note of all the vehicles 100 plus Vehicles outside there's a reason for that because you'll end up bringing your car back time and time again until you just give it to them. They promised a 3-year warranty because they can't fix it the first time you'll end up bringing it back and then when you get your vehicle back you got a whole multitude of other things now that are wrong with your vehicle so that you'll have to bring it back and that will be not be covered on their warranty stay away

Blew my water pump , the came out quickly an picked up my jeep , B4 the day was over I was notified of the problem an the let me know the cost ,B4 doing any repairs ,, there prices an service was fantastic , I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great mechanic,

They did the work well and quickly BUT I was charged DOUBLE of what the charges should have been for a water pump and an exhaust manifold! I spoke to several mechanics and verified this! I didn’t have a choice since I was towed in because I blew the water pump! I still question the exhaust manifold since the picture they sent me was of a manifold that was, already, off of my vehicle without any authorization! I will NEVER deal with them or a corporate repair company again!
